Stock broker fraud is not as simple as the name might imply. If you have ever checked into investing in or playing with the stock markets and have done any serious investigations, you may have noticed that there is a lot going on when you do it. The more steps and more complicated it gets the more opportunity there is for human error. That human error can truly be a mistake and it can also be plain out right fraud. So let’s go over a few ways that you can actually get bilked by someone on this.

Stock broker fraud can be anything as simple as the stock broker misleading the client by stretching the truth somewhat or it can be as involved and elaborate as a carefully crafted attempt to get people to invest in something that truly has no chance at all in actually bringing in a profit.

One way that they can commit stock broker fraud is to contact potential or current clients and get them to actually in vest in something in a futures style investment, something like say gold or some other precious metal. However when that money is actually given to the broker he actually finds another use for it, such as gambling or something that was not authorized or sanctioned by the investor.

The main scam that constitutes the most common of stock broker fraud is that the broker will use the money he has gotten from the investor for his own use, whether that be investments or gambling or short term loan and then will wire that money back into the investors checking account, which he already has gotten from them and then the client is told that the investment either didn’t pan out, or didn’t perform as hoped.

In this example the scammer that is performing the stock broker fraud either puts back a little more money or a little less and tells the client that he either lost or made a slight amount. Unless the person that has given the money is smart enough to check into the details, he or she may well never know that they have been had since the bulk of the money is still intact and they may have even made a few dollars.

If the person running this type of stock broker fraud is good at what they do, they can continue to get the person to add more and more money in the investments by giving them a little profit each time which builds a little confidence in his ability.

While there are many other forms of fraud to watch out for it actually requires a rather well trained person to recognize the fact that they have been duped.
